Anthropic, the San Francisco company behind the Claude chatbot, said on June 1, 2026, that it had confidentially submitted a draft registration statement, known as a draft S-1, to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed initial public offering (IPO) of common stock.[1] A confidential filing
